EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (EXPORT AND IMPORT OF CERTAIN DANGEROUS CHEMICALS) (PESTICIDES) (ENFORCEMENT) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1995.

I, IVAN YATES, Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving effect to Council Regulation (EEC) No. 2455/92 of 23 July 19921, as amended by Commission Regulation (EC) No. 41/94 of 11 January 19942 and Council Regulation (EC) No. 3135/94 of 15 December 19943, hereby make the following Regulations:

1 Citation and Commencement.

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Export and Import of Certain Dangerous Chemicals) (Pesticides) (Enforcement) (Amendment) Regulations, 1995.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the first day of August, 1995.

(3) The European Communities (Export and Import of Certain Dangerous Chemicals) (Pesticides) (Enforcement) Regulations, 1995 and these Regulations may be cited together as the European Communities (Export and Import of Certain Dangerous Chemicals) (Pesticides) (Enforcement) Regulations, 1995 and shall be construed together as one.

2 Interpretation.

2. In these Regulations "the Principal Reguations" means the European Communities (Export and Import of Certain Dangerous Chemicals) (Pesticides) (Enforcement) Regulations, 1995 ( S.I. No. 135 of 1995 ).

3 Amendment.

3. The Principal Regulations are hereby amended by the substitution of the text of Annex I of the First Schedule by the following:

In particular the list of chemicals which have been banned or severely restricted to certain uses by Community legislation owing to their effects on health and the environment, is extended.
