RACECOURSE (LEVY COLLECTION) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1994.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 28 of the Racing Board and Racecourses Act, 1945 (No. 16 of 1945), as amended by section 8 (1) of the Racing Board and Racecourses (Amendment) Act, 1975 (No. 11 of 1975 ), and the Agriculture (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) (No. 2) Order 1980 (S.I. No. 80 of 1980), the Racing Board with the consent of the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry hereby make the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Racecourse (Levy Collection) (Amendment) Regulations, 1994.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on December 6, 1994.

3. Regulation 14 Subsection (1) of the Racecourse (Levy Collection) Regulations, 1977 ( S.I. No. 404 of 1977 ) is hereby amended by the deletion of the words "at any time before (but not after) the expiration of twelve months from the acceptance of the bet".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations come into force on 6th December, 1994 and amend the 1977 Regulations.

These Regulations relax the time frame within which Bookmakers may make a claim for a return or remission of the levy chargeable in respect of an irrecoverable bet.
