BUSINESS NAMES REGULATIONS, 1993.

The Minister for Enterprise and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 17 of the Registration of Business Names Act, 1963 (No. 30 of 1963), as adapted by the Industry and Commerce (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1993 ( S.I. No. 19 of 1993 ), hereby makes the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Business Names Regulations, 1993.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of June, 1993.

3. The Business Names Regulations, 1964 ( S.I. No. 47 of 1964 ), are hereby amended by the substitution in the Schedule hereto of "Registration fee stamp" for "adhesive postage stamp" and "Postage stamp" in each place where they occur.

4. The Business Names Regulations, 1964 ( S.I. No. 47 of 1964 ), are hereby amended by the substitution for Regulation 5 (inserted by the Business Names Regulations, 1988 ( S.I. No. 238 of 1988 ) of the following Regulation:

"5. The fees to be paid to the registrar under the Act shall be as follows:

( a ) on furnishing a statement of particulars required under section 4 of the Act, the sum of £15 and such sum shall cover the issue of one certificate of registration;

( b ) on furnishing a statement of change in the particulars registered as required under section 7 of the Act, the sum of £6 and such sum shall cover the issue, where necessary of one certificate of registration of change in the business name;

( c ) by any person inspecting under the provisions of section 16 of the Act, any documents kept by the registrar, the sum of £2 for each such inspection;

( d ) by any person requiring, under the provisions of section 16 of the Act, a certificate of the registration of any person or a certified copy of or extract from any other document or any part of any other document, the sum of £2 for each certificate, certified copy or extract."

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The purpose of this Order is to (a) increase the fees to be paid in connection with certain provisions of the Business Names Act, 1963 and (b) to discontinue the requirement to pay such fees by postage stamp.
