LIVESTOCK (REGULATION OF EXPORT) ORDER, 1992.

I, JOE WALSH, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 29 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966), as adapted by the Agriculture (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1987 ( S.I. No. 97 of 1987 ) hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Livestock (Regulation of Export) Order, 1992.

2. In this Order

"livestock" means any bovine animal, sheep, goat or other ruminating animal or swine.

"Member State" means a Member State of the European Economic Community.

3. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1993.

4. The export of livestock to another Member State is hereby prohibited except under and in accordance with a licence granted in that behalf by the Minister for Agriculture and Food.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order prohibits, except under licence, the exportation of livestock.
