LOCAL GOVERNMENT (PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT) ACT, 1992, (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1992

The Minister for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 24 (3) of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1992 (No. 14 of 1992), hereby orders as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1992 ,(Commencement) Order, 1992.

2. In this Order—

"the Act of 1976" means the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1976 (No. 20 of 1976);

"the Act of 1992" means the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1992 .

3. (1) On the 30th day of July, 1992, subsections (2) and (3) of section 5 and section 18 of the Act of 1992 shall come into operation.

(2) On the 14th day of September, 1992, subsection (1) of section 5 of the Act of 1992 shall come into operation.

(3) On the 19th day of October, 1992, the remaining provisions of the Act of 1992, except paragraph (g) of section 19 (4) as respects paragraph (b) of subsection (6) of the section inserted in the Act of 1976 by the said paragraph (g), shall come into operation.

(4) On the 1st day of January, 1994, paragraph (g) of section 19 (4) of the Act of 1992 shall come into operation as respects paragraph (b) of subsection (6) of the section inserted in the Act of 1976 by the said paragraph (g).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order fixes the days on which the provisions of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1992 shall come into operation.
