PATENTS ACT, 1992 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1992.

I, DESMOND O'MALLEY, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 of the Patents Act, 1992 (No. 1 of 1992) hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Patents Act, 1992 (Commencement) Order, 1992.

2. The 1st day of August, 1992, is hereby appointed as the day on which the Patents Act, 1992 (No. 1 of 1992), shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order appoints the 1st August, 1992 as the date on which the Patents Act, 1992 comes into operation. The Patents Rules, 1992 and the Register of Patent Agents Rules, 1992 come into operation on the same date.
