TRANSIT OF ANIMALS ORDER, 1991.

I, MICHAEL WOODS, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966), as adapted by the Agriculture (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1987 ( S.I. No. 97 of 1987 ), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Transit of Animals Order, 1991.

(2) The Transit of Animals Orders, 1927 to 1983 and this Order may be cited together as the Transit of Animals Orders, 1927 to 1991.

(3) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1992.

2. The Transit of Animals Order, 1982 ( S.I. No. 120 of 1982 ), is hereby amended in paragraph (2) of Article 3 by the substitution, in subparagraph (b), of "£7.00" for "£5.00" (inserted by the Transit of Animals Order, 1989 ( S.I. No. 355 of 1989 )) and the said paragraph (2), as so amended, is set out in the Table to this Article.

(2) A fee payable under this Article shall be calculated by reference to the number of animals to which it relates and in accordance with such of the following rates as is or are appropriate:

( a ) in case the relevant certificate relates to cattle, a rate of £3.25 per head of such cattle,

( b ) in case such certificate relates to horses, a rate of £7.00 per such horse,

( c ) in case such certificate relates to sheep, a rate of £0.55 per such sheep, and

( d ) in case such certificate relates to pigs, a rate of £1.10 per such Pig.

3. The Transit of Animals Order, 1989, is hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order specifies the revised fees payable as from 1 January 1992 for certificates issued in respect of the veterinary inspection of horses prior to export to places other than Northern Ireland, including certificates issued in respect of horses exported via Northern Ireland to other destinations.
