LIMERICK HARBOUR COMMISSIONERS (ADDITIONAL LOCAL AUTHORITY MEMBERS) ORDER, 1991.

WHEREAS the council of the county of Clare has agreed to assist the Limerick Harbour Commissioners by guaranteeing, pursuant to section 7 of the Harbours Act, 1947 (No. 34 of 1947), repayment of the principal and payment of the interest of a loan raised by the Commissioners:

AND WHEREAS the Minister for the Marine is of opinion that the council should have representation in the membership of the commissioners:

NOW, I, JOHN P. WILSON, Tánaiste and Minister for the Marine, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 8 of the Harbours Act, 1946 (No. 9 of 1946), and the Communications (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1987 ( S.I. No. 91 of 1987 ), and after consultation with the Minister for the Environment, hereby order as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Limerick Harbour Commissioners (Additional Local Authority Members) Order, 1991.

2. This Order shall have effect on and after the 18th day of September, 1991.

3. The council of the county of Clare shall appoint two additional local authority members of the Limerick Harbour Commissioners.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to authorise Clare County Council to appoint two additional local authority members to Limerick Harbour Commissioners.
