WORKER PARTICIPATION (STATE ENTERPRISES) ACT, 1988 (TEAM AER LINGUS LIMITED) ORDER, 1991

WHEREAS TEAM Aer Lingus Limited is a subsidiary of Aer Lingus plc to which Section 9 of the Worker Participation (State Enterprises) Act, 1988 (No. 13 of 1988), applies:

AND WHEREAS Aer Lingus plc and representatives of employees of that company have jointly made a request in writing to the Minister for Tourism and Transport for the making of this Order, and that company has sent a copy of the request to me, BERTIE AHERN, Minister for Labour:

NOW, I, BERTIE AHERN, Minister for Labour, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the said Section 9 and after consultation with the Minister for Finance and the Minister for Tourism and Transport, hereby make the following Order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Worker Participation (State Enterprises) Act, 1988 (TEAM Aer Lingus Limited) Order, 1991.

2. Every employee of TEAM Aer Lingus Limited shall, for the purposes of the Worker Participation (State Enterprises) Acts, 1977 to 1991, be regarded as an employee of Aer Lingus plc.

3. The Worker Participation (State Enterprises) Act, 1988 (Aer Lingus Maintenance and Engineering Services Ltd.) Order, 1991, ( S.I. No. 21 of 1991 ) is hereby repealed.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order takes acccount of the change of name of Aer Lingus Maintenance and Engineering Services Ltd. to TEAM Aer Lingus Limited and allows employees of TEAM Aer Lingus Limited to participate in the election of employee representatives to the board of Aer Lingus plc.
