SAVINGS CERTIFICATES (ELEVENTH ISSUE) (AMENDMENT) RULES, 1989.

I, ALBERT REYNOLDS, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 30 (2) of the Finance Act, 1940 (No. 14 of 1940), hereby make the following rules:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Savings Certificates (Eleventh Issue) (Amendment) Rules, 1989.

(2) The Savings Certificates (Eleventh Issue) Rules, 1986 ( S.I. No. 58 of 1986 ), and these rules may be cited together as the Savings Certificates (Eleventh Issue) Rules, 1986 and 1989.

2. These Rules shall come into operation on the 21st day of May, 1989.

3. Rule 5 of the Savings Certificates (Eleventh Issue) Rules, 1986, ( S.I. No. 58 of 1986 ) shall have effect as if "£40,000" were substituted for "£25,000".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The purpose of these Rules is to increase the maximum holding of the eleventh issue of savings certificates from £25,000 to £40,000 from 21st. May, 1989.
