HEALTH (SUPERANNUATION PROVISIONS) ORDER, 1988.

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 11 of the Health Act, 1970 (No. 1 of 1970), as amended by section 8 of the Local Government (Superannuation) Act, 1980 (No. 8 of 1980), hereby orders as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Health (Superannuation Provisions) Order, 1988.

2. The General Medical Services (Payments) Board (Establishment) Order, 1972 ( S.I. No. 184 of 1972 ) is hereby amended by the addition after article 19 thereof of the following article:—

"20. Schemes and Regulations made under the Local Government (Superannuation) Act, 1980 (No. 8 of 1980) shall apply to the Board as if it were a local authority".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order amends the Establishment Order of the General Medical Services (Payments) Board in order to allow the revised superannuation arrangements for local authority staff made under the powers contained in the Local Government (Superannuation) Act, 1980 to be applied to the Board.
