S.I. No. 112/1988 - Garda Síochána (Complaints) Act, 1986 (Sections 10 and 11) (Commencement) Order, 1988.

I, GERARD COLLINS, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the power conferred on me by section 10 (3) of the Garda Síochána (Complaints) Act, 1986 (No. 29 of 1986), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Garda Síochána (Complaints) Act, 1986 (Sections 10 and 11) (Commencement) Order, 1988.

2. The 7th day of June, 1988, is hereby appointed to be the day on which sections 10 and 11 of the Garda Síochána (Complaints) Act, 1986 (No. 29 of 1986), shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order fixes 7th June, 1988 as the date on which sections 10 and 11 of the Garda Síochána (Complaints) Act, 1986 shall come into operation. These sections provide for the establishment of and the taking of appeals to the Garda Síochána Complaints Appeals Board.
