COMPANIES (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1982 (SECTION 13 (2) ) ORDER, 1988.

I, ALBERT REYNOLDS, Minister for Industry and Commerce in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 13 (2) of the Companies (Amendment) Act, 1982 (No. 10 of 1982), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Companies (Amendment) Act, 1982 (Section 13 (2) ) Order, 1988.

2. It is hereby declared that the provisions of section 376 of the Companies Act, 1963 (prohibiting partnerships with more than 20 members) shall not apply to the formation of a partnership to which the Limited Partnerships Act, 1907, relates (subject, by virtue of this Article, to section 13 (5) of the Companies (Amendment) Act, 1982 ) and which is formed for the purpose of carrying on or promoting the business of thoroughbred horse breeding.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

Section 376 of the Companies Act, 1963 prohibits the formation of partnerships with more than 20 members. This Order provides that section 376 shall not apply to partnerships set up for the purpose of carrying on or promoting the business of thoroughbred horse breeding.
