AGRICULTURE AND FOOD (DELEGATION OF MINISTERIAL FUNCTIONS) ORDER, 1987.

The Government, on the request of the Minister for Agriculture and Food and in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 2 of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) (No. 2) Act, 1977 (No. 28 of 1977), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Agriculture and Food (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order, 1987.

2. All the powers and duties of the Minister for Agriculture and Food conferred—

(a) by or under the Acts specified in the First Schedule to this Order,

(b) under the orders and regulations specified in the Second Schedule to this Order,

(c) by section 221 of the Public Health (Ireland) Act, 1878, in so far as it relates to the confirmation of bye-laws made under—

(i) section 128 of the Towns Improvement Clauses Act, 1847,

(ii) section 105 of the Public Health (Ireland) Act, 1878,

(iii) the Public Health (Ireland) Act, 1911, or

(iv) section 4 of the Slaughter of Animals Act, 1935 (No. 45 of 1935),

and

(d) by or under the Local Government Acts, 1925 to 1985, and the Local Authorities (Officers and Employees) Acts, 1926 to 1983, in relation to the office or to the holder of the office of veterinary inspector under a local authority, are hereby delegated to Joe Walsh, Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture and Food.
