DUBLIN METROPOLITAN STREETS COMMISSION (DISSOLUTION) ORDER, 1987.

The Minister for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 4 of the Dublin Metropolitan Streets Commission Act, 1986 (No. 30 of 1986) hereby orders as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Dublin Metropolitan Streets Commission (Dissolution) Order, 1987.

2. In this Order—

"the Act" means the Dublin Metropolitan Streets Commission Act 1986 .

"the Commission" means the Dublin Metropolitan Streets Commission.

"Dublin Corporation" means the Right Honourable the Lord Mayor, Aldermen and Burgesses of Dublin.

3. With effect from the 1st day of July, 1987 the Commission shall be and is hereby dissolved.

4. All property, rights and liabilities of the Commission shall, on the dissolution of the Commission, become and be transferred to Dublin Corporation.

5. The functions which, pursuant to section 4(3)(a) of the Act, become and be exercisable by Dublin Corporation on the dissolution of the Commission, shall be modified as follows:

(a) the general duty of the Commission under section 5 of the Act shall not be transferred to Dublin Corporation, and

(b) the obligation to prepare an improvement scheme under section 6 of the Act shall not be transferred to Dublin Corporation.

6. (1) The accounts of the Commission for the period from the 1st day of February, 1987, to the 30th day of June, 1987 shall be submitted for audit and shall be audited by an auditor appointed by the Minister for the Environment.

(2) A copy of the audited accounts shall be sent to Dublin Corporation and to the Minister for the Environment who shall cause copies of the accounts to be laid before both Houses of the Oireachtas.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order provides for the dissolution of the Dublin Metropolitan Streets Commission and for consequential matters arising therefrom.
