HEALTH SERVICES (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1987.

The Minister for Health in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 5 of the Health Act, 1947 (No. 28 of 1947) and section 56 (3) of the Health Act, 1970 (No. 1 of 1970) as substituted by section 1 of the Health (Amendment) Act, 1987 (No. 3 of 1987) with the consent of the Minister for Finance hereby makes the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Health Services (Amendment) Regulations, 1987.

2. In these Regulations—

" the Act" means the Health Act, 1970 .

3. The following diseases and disabilities are hereby prescribed for the purposes of section 56 (3) of the Act: mental handicap, mental illness, phenylketonuria, cystic fibrosis, spina bifida, hydrocephalus, haemophilia and cerebral palsy.

4. Article 7 of the health Services (Amendment) Regulations, 1971 ( S.I. No. 277 of 1971 ) is hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations prescribe the diseases and disabilities in respect of which out-patient services are to be provided without charge for children under the Health Act, 1970 .
