PUBLIC SERVICE (ALTERATION OF NAME OF DEPARTMENT AND TITLE OF MINISTER) ORDER, 1987.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 6 (1) of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1939 (No. 36 of 1939), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Public Service (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1987.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 20th day of March, 1987.

2. The Department of State, the present name whereof is, in the Irish language, Roinn na Seirbhíse Poiblí and, in the English language, the Department of the Public Service, is hereby altered, in the Irish language, to that of An Roinn Turasoireachta agus Iompair and, in the English language, to that of the Department of Tourism and Transport.

3. The title of the Minister having charge of a Department of State, whose present title is, in the Irish language, Aire na Seirbhíse Poiblí and, in the English language the Minister for the Public Service, is hereby altered, in the Irish language, to that of An tAire Turasóireachta agus Iompair and, in the English language, to that of the Minister for Tourism and Transport.

4. In any enactment—

(a) references to the Department of the Public Service (other than references which by virtue of the Public Service (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1987 ( S.I. No. 81 of 1987 ), are references to the Department of Finance) shall be construed as references to the Department of Tourism and Transport;

(b) references to the Minister for the Public Service (other than references which by virtue of the Public Service (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1987 ( S.I. No. 81 of 1987 ), are references to the Minister for Finance) shall be construed as a reference to the Minister for Tourism and Transport.
