LOCAL GOVERNMENT (SANITARY SERVICES) ACT, 1948 (SECTION 34) (PART OF COUNTY OF DONEGAL) ORDER, 1986.

The Minister for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sub-section (2) of section 34 of the Local Government (Sanitary Services) Act, 1948 (No. 3 of 1948) hereby orders as follows:

(1) This order may be cited as the Local Government (Sanitary Services) Act, 1948 (Section 34) (Part of County of Donegal) Order, 1986.

(2) On the twenty-eighth day after the date of this order, section 34 of the Local Government (Sanitary Services) Act, 1948 , shall come into operation in that part of the County Health District of Donegal described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

Those parts of the townlands of Culdaff, Glebe and Knock in the District Electoral Division of Culdaff situated within a line drawn from the junction of the eastern boundary of the curtilage of Carratra Lodge with the southern margin of the County Road No. 102 and thence along the line of the eastern boundary of the curtilage of Carratra Lodge and its southerly projection to a point 250 feet from the southern margin of the said County Road No. 102 and thence initially in an easterly direction parallel to that road and 250 feet to the south of it to the eastern margin of the said County Road No. 102 south of the boathouse at the eastern end of Culdaff Bay and thence in a northerly direction along the eastern margin of the said road to the point where the said road turns in a westerly direction and thence along the southern margin of the said County Road No. 102 to the starting point.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to bring section 34 of the Local Government (Sanitary Services) Act, 1948 , into operation in that part of the County Health District of Donegal consisting of the lands named in the Schedule to the Order. Section 34 of that Act authorises a sanitary authority to grant to the occupier of land within that part of their sanitary district in which that section is in operation, or with the consent of such occupier to a camping organisation, a licence authorising the use during a specified period of twelve consecutive months of such land for camping. Camping will not be permissible in the area mentioned unless so licensed, subject to certain exceptions set out in the Act.
