CORK AND LIMERICK CITY MANAGEMENT (RESERVED FUNCTIONS) ORDER, 1986.

The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by subsection (2) of section 8 of the Cork City Management Act, 1929 (No. 1 of 1929) and by subsection (2) of section 12 of the Limerick City Management Act, 1934 (No. 35 of 1934), hereby directs and orders as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Cork and Limerick City Management (Reserved Functions) Order, 1986.

2. As on and from the 24th day of February 1986, the power of the Corporation of the County Borough of Cork and of the Corporation of the County Borough of Limerick—

( a ) to make charges for services provided in respect of domestic premises by virtue of section 2 of the Local Government (Financial Provisions) (No. 2) Act, 1983 (No. 21 of 1983), and

( b ) to make charges for water supplied for domestic purposes by virtue of section 65A of the Public Health (Ireland) Act, 1878, inserted by section 7 of the Local Government (Sanitary Services) Act, 1962 (No. 26 of 1962), as amended by section 8 of the Local Government (Financial Provisions) (No. 2) Act, 1983 (No. 21 of 1983),

shall be exercisable and performable directly by the Council of the County Borough Corporation of Cork and by the Limerick City Council respectively.

3. In this Order "domestic premises" means a premises used wholly or mainly as a dwelling.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order transfers the power to make charges for services provided in respect of domestic premises situated in the Cork and Limerick county borough corporation areas from the respective managers to the elected members.
