DISABLED PERSONS (MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCES) (AMENDMENT) (No. 2) REGULATIONS, 1983.

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 5 of the Health Act, 1947 (No. 28 of 1947) and by sections 69 and 72 of the Health Act, 1970 (No. 1 of 1970 ), hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Disabled Persons (Maintenance Allowances) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 1983.

2. Where a person is or becomes entitled to payment of a maintenance allowance under section 69 of the Health Act, 1970 in accordance with article 4 of the Disabled Persons (Maintenance Allowances) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 1981 (S.I. No. 341 of 1981) as amended by the Disabled Persons (Maintenance Allowances) (Amendment) Regulations, 1983 ( S.I. No. 154 of 1983 ) in respect of the week ending on the 9th day of December, 1983, any amount payable to him by way of such allowance for that week shall be increased by a sum equal to that amount.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The effect of these Regulations is to increase, in respect of the week ending 9th December, 1983 the maximum weekly rate of maintenance allowance payable under Section 69 of the Health Act, 1970 , by a sum equal to that amount.
