HEALTH CONTRIBUTIONS (YEARLY RECKONABLE INCOME) (VARIATION) REGULATIONS, 1983.

The Minister for Health in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sub-section (3) of section 9 of the Health Contributions Act, 1979 (No. 4 of 1979) hereby makes the following Regulations as respects which, pursuant to sub-section (5) of the said section, a draft has been approved by a resolution of each House of the Oireachtas.

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Health Contributions (Yearly Reckonable Income) (Variation) Regulations, 1983.

2. The sum specified in sections 5 (2), 6 (2) and 8 of the Health Contributions Act, 1979 is hereby varied with effect from the 6th day of April, 1983 to the sum of £11,000.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

Section 9 (3) of the Health Contributions Act, 1979 , provides that the Minister for Health may by regulation vary the ceiling amount specified in sections 5 (2), 6 (2) and 8 of the Act. The present income ceiling is £9,500 and it is now varied by these regulations to £11,000. The changed income ceiling is operative from the beginning of the contribution year commencing on 6th April, 1983.
