PIGS AND BACON ACT, 1935 (PART II) (NO. 8) REGULATIONS, 1982

I, BRIAN LENIHAN, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 8 and 28 (inserted by section 5 (1) of the Agricultural Produce (Meat) (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1978 (No. 13 of 1978)) of the Pigs and Bacon Act, 1935 (No. 24 of 1935), and the Agriculture and Fisheries (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1977 ( S.I. No. 31 of 1977 ), hereby make the following regulations, with respect to which, pursuant to subsection (7) of the said section 28, a draft has been laid before each House of the Oireachtas and a resolution approving of the draft has been passed by each such House:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Pigs and Bacon Act, 1935 (Part II) (No. 8) Regulations, 1982.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 31st day of May, 1982.

3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations.

4. For the purposes of section 28 (1) of the Pigs and Bacon Act, 1935 , the prescribed sum shall be £0.50.

5. The Pigs and Bacon Act, 1935 (Part II) (No. 7) Regulations, 1980 ( S.I. No. 394 of 1980 ), are hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations increase as from 31 May, 1982 the fees payable by bacon curers for veterinary examination of pigs in accordance with the Pigs and Bacon Act, 1935 .
