INDUSTRIAL TRAINING (FOOD, DRINK AND TOBACCO COMMITTEE) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1982.

An Chomhairle Oiliúna, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 24 of the Industrial Training Act, 1967 (No. 5 of 1967), hereby makes the following order:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Industrial Training (Food, Drink and Tobacco Committee) (Amendment) Order, 1982.

2. In this Order "the Order of 1970" means the Industrial Training (Food, Drink and Tobacco Committee) Order, 1970 as amended.

3. The Industrial Training (Food, Drink and Tobacco Committee) Order, 1970, the Industrial Training (Food, Drink and Tobacco Committee) (Amendment) Order, 1972 and this Order may be cited together as the Industrial Training (Food, Drink and Tobacco Committee) Orders, 1970 to 1982.

4. Article 3 of the Order of 1970 is hereby amended by the substitution of "thirty-one ordinary members" for "twenty-six ordinary members".

5. The following Article is hereby substituted for Article 5 of the Order of 1970:—

"The ordinary members of the Committee shall include fourteen workers' members, fourteen employers' members, one educational member and two other ordinary members.".

6. The following paragraphs are hereby substituted for paragraphs (b) and (d) in Article 6 of the Order of 1970:—

"(b) After consultation with the Minister, invite an organisation or organisations representative of employers to nominate persons for appointment as employers' members and shall appoint fourteen persons from the persons so nominated to be the employers' members,"

"(d) after consultation with such organisations as An Chomhairle considers suitable, appoint two persons to be the other ordinary members.".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

An Chomhairle Oiliúna (The Industrial Training Authority) was established under the Industrial Training Act, 1967 , to promote training in industry and commerce.

The Industrial Training (Food, Drink and Tobacco Committee) Order, 1970 ( S.I. No. 3 of 1970 ) established an industrial training committee, to be known as the Food, Drink and Tobacco Industry Training Committee, to advise and assist An Chomhairle as respects the performance of its functions.

This Order amends the Industrial Training (Food, Drink and Tobacco Committee) Order, 1970, by increasing the number of ordinary committee members to thirty-one.
