THE SOLICITORS ACTS 1954 AND 1960 (APPRENTICES' FEES) (NO. 2) REGULATIONS, 1981.

The Incorporated Law Society of Ireland in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 5 and 82 of the Solicitors Act 1954 and with the concurrence of the President of the High Court hereby make the following Regulations.

1. On and after the date on which these Regulations shall come into operation, the fees specified in the Schedule hereto shall be paid to the Incorporated Law Society of Ireland by the petitioner or applicant in respect of the courses and examinations laid down in the Solicitors Acts 1954 and 1960 (Apprenticeship and Education) Regulations 1975 ( S.I. No. 66 of 1975 ) hereinafter referred to as "the New Regulations".

2. Articles 5 and 6 of the Schedule to the Solicitors Acts 1954 and 1960 (Apprentices' Fees) Regulations 1981 ( S.I. No. 203 of 1981 ) will not apply to the first, second and third parts of the Final Examination under the New Regulations and the separate Book-keeping examination will not be taken by students pursuing courses under the New Regulations. Article 7 of said Schedule will not apply to courses under the New Regulations.

3. These Regulations may be cited as the Solicitors Acts 1954 and 1960 (Apprentices' Fees) (No. 2) Regulations 1981; they shall be read with the Solicitors Acts 1954 and 1960 (Apprentices' Fees) Regulations 1981 ( S.I. No. 203 of 1981 ).

4. The Solicitors Acts 1954 and 1960 (Apprentices' Fees) Regulations 1978 ( S.I. No. 273 of 1978 ) shall be revoked as from the date of the operation of these Regulations.

5. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of July, 1981.

SCHEDULE.

I. On each application to attend the course of lectures and associated studies in the subjects specified in appendix 1 of the New Regulations known as the Professional Course ...............................................£1405.00

II. On each application to attend the course of lectures and associated studies in the subjects specified in appendix II of the New Regulations known as the Advanced Course .................................................£500.00

III. On each application (whether for the first or any subsequent time) to attend the Final Examination—

First Part

Second Part

IV. For each day or part of a day re-attending the Processional Course or the Advanced Course (including re-taking any individual part of the Final Examination — Second Part or the Final Examination — Third Part) ............................................................ ............................................................ ..........................£15.00
