NEWSPAPERS (SPECIAL SERVICE FOR CONVEYANCE BY POST OFFICE MAIL VANS) AMENDMENT (NO. 7) WARRANT, 1981.

I, ALBERT REYNOLDS, Minister for Posts and Telegraphs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 2 , 3 and 6 of the Post Office (Amendment) Act, 1969 (No. 18 of 1969), and with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby order as follows:—

1. (1) This Warrant may be cited as the Newspapers (Special Service for Conveyance by Post Office Mail Vans) Amendment (No. 7) Warrant, 1981.

(2) This Warrant shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1981.

2. The Schedule to the Newspapers (Special Service for Conveyance by Post Office Mail Vans) Warrant, 1957 ( S.I. No. 37 of 1957 ), as amended by the Newspapers (Special Service for Conveyance by Post Office Mail Vans) Amendment (No. 6) Warrant, 1980 ( S.I. No. 206 of 1980 ), is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein of the entries in the Schedule to this Warrant.

"SCHEDULE

In case the newspaper bundles sent to the newsagent are bundles each not exceeding 1.5 kg. in weight

£22 per annum

In case the newspaper bundles sent to the newsagent are bundles each exceeding 1.5 kg. and not exceeding 3 kg. in weight

£33 per annum

In case the newspaper bundles sent to the newsagent are bundles each exceeding 3 kg. and not exceeding 5 kg. in weight

£44 per annum

In case the newspaper bundles sent to the newsagent are bundles each exceeding 5 kg. and not exceeding 7 kg. in weight

£60 per annum

In case the newspaper bundles sent to the newsagent are bundles each exceeding 7 kg. and not exceeding 10 kg. in weight

£72 per annum

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Warrant comes into operation on the 1st April, 1981. It authorises an increase in the charges for the conveyance by Post Office mail vans on rural services of bundles of newly-published daily newspapers.
