Hallmarking Act, 1981

Application of certain enactments to platinum.

8.—(1) From the commencement of this Act every reference to gold or silver in an enactment specified in subsection (2) of this section shall be construed as including a reference to platinum.

(2) The enactments referred to in subsection (1) of this section are—

(a) the Charter of the Company,

(b) the Plate Assay Act, 1783 ,

(c) the Customs Act, 1842 ,

(d) the Plate Assay (Ireland) Act, 1807 ,

(e) section 10 of the Revenue Act, 1883 ,

(f) the Hall-marking of Foreign Plate Act, 1904 ,

(g) the Act of 1913.
