AIRPORT BYE-LAWS, 1980.

I, ALBERT REYNOLDS, Minister for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 16 (1) (1) of the Air Navigation and Transport Act, 1950 (No. 4 of 1950), the Transport, Fuel and Power (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 125 of 1959 ), and the Tourism and Transport (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1980 ( S.I. No. 11 of 1980 ), hereby make the following Bye-laws:—

1. These Bye-laws may be cited as the Airport Bye-laws, 1980.

2. The Airport Bye-laws, 1978 ( S.I. No. 225 of 1978 ), are hereby amended by the insertion of the following after Bye-law 4 (53):

"(54) Monitoring air traffic control or airport or airline operational frequencies with radio receiving or radio receiving and recording equipment or using television cameras or other photographic equipment when, in the opinion of an authorised officer, any such action would be contrary to the interests of security".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The Bye-laws which make an addition to the Airport Bye-Laws, 1978 (S.I. No. 225), prohibit the use of radio equipment and television or other photographic equipment at the airports when such action would be contrary to the interests of security.
