CONTROL OF IMPORTS (QUOTA NO. 51, SEVENTEENTH PERIOD) (MISCELLANEOUS TEXTILES) ORDER, 1980.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by the Control of Imports Acts, 1934 to 1964, hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Control of Imports (Quota No. 51, Seventeenth period) (Miscellaneous Textiles) Order, 1980.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. The period specified in the second column of the Schedule to this Order is hereby appointed to be the next quota period under the quota order specified in the first column of the said Schedule and the quantity of goods to which such quota order applies specified in the third column of the said Schedule is hereby appointed to be the quota in respect of the said next quota period.

The period beginning on the 1st day of January, 1981, and ending on the 31st day of December, 1981.

A quantity equal in value to one hundred Irish pounds (£1R 100).

Certain textile yarns, certain articles of textile material and certain articles of bedding or similar furnishing.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Instrument appoints a nominal Quota of £IR100 as the value of miscellaneous textiles (wearing apparel and other made-up textile articles) originating in the countries listed below, which may be imported during the period 1st January, 1981 to 31st December, 1981. This nominal Quota has been appointed to facilitate more satisfactory administration. The Minister will in fact be prepared to license during the quota period goods not less than 170 tonnes predominantly for use for further manufacture.
