CHILDREN ACT, 1941 (Section 21) REGULATIONS, 1980

I, JOHN WILSON, Minister for Education, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 21 of the Children Act, 1941 (No. 12 of 1941) as adapted by the Health (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1947 (S. R. & O., No. 58 of 1947), hereby with the consent of the Minister for Health and the Minister for Finance, make the following regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Children Act, 1941 (Section 21) Regulations, 1980.

2. The Payments to be made by local authorities to the managers of certified schools for the maintenance of such children and youthful offenders as such local authorities are liable to maintain under Section 74 of the Children Act, 1908, as amended by Section 20 of the Children Act, 1941 (No. 12 of 1941), shall, with effect from the first day of March 1980 be £23.25 per week for each child in an industrial school and each youthful offender in a reformatory school.

3. The Children Act, 1941 (Section 21) Regulations, 1979 ( S.I. No. 397 of 1979 ) are hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The Regulations prescribe the payments to be made from 1 March, 1980, by local authorities to the managers of certified schools for the maintenance of children and youthful offenders committed to their schools.
