SAVINGS CERTIFICATES (NINTH ISSUE) (AMENDMENT) RULES, 1980.

I, MICHEÁL Ó CINNÉIDE, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 30 (2) of the Finance Act, 1940 (No. 14 of 1940), hereby make the following rules:

1. (1) These Rules may be cited as the Savings Certificates (Ninth Issue) (Amendment) Rules, 1980.

(2) The Savings Certificates (Ninth Issue) Rules, 1973 and 1978 and these Rules may be cited together as the Savings Certificates (Ninth Issue) Rules, 1973 and 1980.

2. These Rules shall come into operation on the 1st day of March, 1980.

3. Rule 5 of the Savings Certificates (Ninth Issue) Rules, 1973, ( S.I. No. 291 of 1973 ) shall have effect as if "£15,000" were substituted for "£7,500" (inserted by the Savings Certificates (Ninth Issue) (Amendment) Rules, 1978 ( S.I. No. 27 of 1978 )).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The purpose of these Rules is to increase the maximum holding of the ninth issue of savings certificates from £7,500 to £15,000 from 1st March, 1980.
