COURTS (SUPPLEMENTAL PROVISIONS) ACT, 1961 (SECTION 46) ORDER, 1979.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 46 (9) of the Courts (Supplemental Provisions) Act, 1961 (No. 39 of 1961) (inserted by section 1 of the Courts (Supplemental Provisions) (Amendment) (No. 2) Act, 1960 (No. 21 of 1960), as amended by section 11 of the Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) and Ministerial, Parliamentary and Judicial Offices (Amendment) Act, 1977 (No. 29 of 1977), hereby make the following order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Courts (Supplemental Provisions) Act, 1961 (Section 46) Order, 1979.

2. The sums payable by way of remuneration to the several judges of the Supreme Court, the High Court and the Circuit Court and the several justices of the District Court shall be and be deemed to have been increased—

( a ) with effect from the 26th day of June, 1978, by 8.5 per cent.,

( b ) with effect from the 1st day of March, 1979, by 2 per cent., and

( c ) with effect from the 1st day of June, 1979, by 9 per cent.

3. (1) Article 3 (b) of the Courts (Supplemental Provisions) Act, 1961 (Section 46) Order, 1978 ( S.I. No. 130 of 1978 ), shall cease to have effect.

(2) Subparagraph (1) of this Article shall be deemed to have commenced on the 26th day of June, 1978.
