FISHERIES (ALTERATION OF NAME OF DEPARTMENT AND TITLE OF MINISTER) ORDER, 1978.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 6 (1) of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1939 (No. 36 of 1939), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Fisheries (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1978.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 15th day of July, 1978.

2. The name of the Department of State, the present name whereof is, in the Irish Language, an Roinn Iascaigh, and, in the English language, the Department of Fisheries, is hereby altered in the Irish language to that of an Roinn Iascaigh agus Foraoiseachta and in the English language, to that of the Department of Fisheries and Forestry.

3. The title of the Minister having charge of a Department of State, whose present title is, in the Irish language, An tAire Iascaigh and, in the English language, the Minister for Fisheries, is hereby altered in the Irish language to that of An tAire Iascaigh agus Foraoiseachta, and, in the English language, to that of the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry.

4. In any enactment—

( a ) references to the Department of Fisheries shall be construed as references to the Department of Fisheries and Forestry;

( b ) references to the Minister for Fisheries shall be construed as references to the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry.
