SOCIAL WELFARE (SINGLE WOMAN'S ALLOWANCE) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1978.

The Minister for Social Welfare in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3 of the Social Welfare Act, 1952 (No. 11 of 1952) and section 3 of the Social Welfare (No. 2) Act, 1974 (No. 14 of 1974) hereby makes the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Single Woman's Allowance) (Amendment) Regulations, 1978.

2. These Regulations and the Social Welfare (Single Woman's Allowance) Regulations, 1974 may be cited together as the Social Welfare (Single Woman's Allowance) Regulations, 1974 and 1978.

3. These Regulations shall come into operation on 1st day of April, 1978.

4. Article 5 of the Social Welfare (Single Woman's Allowance) Regulations, 1974 ( S.I. No. 209 of 1974 ) is hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of the Regulation is to remove the condition for receipt of a Single Woman's Allowance which requires an applicant to have resided in the State for a period of at least two years at any time before her claim.
