INDUSTRY AND COMMERCE (ALTERATION OF NAME OF DEPARTMENT AND TITLE OF MINISTER) ORDER, 1977.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 6 (1) of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1939 (No. 36 of 1939), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Industry and Commerce (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1977.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 23rd day of September, 1977.

2. The name of the Department of State, the present name whereof is, in the Irish language, An Roinn Tionscail, agus Tráchtála and, in the English language, the Department of Industry, Commerce and Tourism is hereby altered in the Irish language to that of An Roinn Tionscail, Tráchtála agus Fuinnimh and, in the English language, to that of the Department of Industry, Commerce and Energy.

3. The title of the Minister having charge of a Department of State, whose present title is, in the Irish language An tAire Tionscail agus Tráchtála and, in the English language, the Minister for Industry and Commerce, is hereby altered in the Irish language to that of An tAire Tionscail, Tráchtála agus Fuinnimh and, in the English language, to that of the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Energy.

4. In any enactment, references to the Department of Industry and Commerce shall be construed as references to the Department of Industry, Commerce and Energy and references to the Minister for Industry and Commerce shall be construed as references to the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Energy.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order changes the name of the Department of Industry and Commerce to that of the Department of Industry, Commerce and Energy and the title of the Minister for Industry and Commerce to that of the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Energy.
