TRANSPORT AND POWER (ALTERATION OF NAME OF DEPARTMENT AND TITLE OF MINISTER) ORDER, 1977.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 6 (1) of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1939 (No. 36 of 1939), hereby order as follows:—

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Transport and Power (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1977.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 23rd day of September, 1977.

2. The name of the Department of State, the present name whereof is, in the Irish language, An Roinn Iompair agus Cumhachta, and, in the English language, the Department of Transport and Power, is hereby altered in the Irish language to that of An Roinn Turasóireachta agus Iompair, and in the English language, to that of the Department of Tourism and Transport.

3. The title of the Minister having charge of a Department of State, whose present title is, in the Irish language, an tAire Iompair agus Cumhachta and, in the English language, the Minister for Transport and Power, is hereby altered in the Irish language to that of An tAire Turasóireachta agus Iompair, and in the English language, to that of the Minister for Tourism and Transport.

4. In any enactment, references to the Department of Transport and Power shall be construed as references to the Department of Tourism and Transport and references to the Minister for Transport and Power shall be construed as references to the Minister for Tourism and Transport.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order changes the name of the Department of Transport and Power to that of the Department of Tourism and Transport and the title of the Minister for Transport and Power to that of the Minister for Tourism and Transport.
