COUNTY MANAGEMENT (LONGFORD AND WESTMEATH) ORDER, 1976.

The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 13 of the City and County Management (Amendment) Act, 1955 , with the consent of the Minister for Health and the Minister for Social Welfare, hereby orders as follows: —

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the County Management (Longford and Westmeath) Order, 1976.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the first day of June, 1977.

2. The application in relation to the Counties of Longford and Westmeath of subsection (2) of Section 3 of the County Management Act, 1940 , is hereby terminated.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This order terminates, as from 1st June, 1977 the application of subsection (2) of section 3 of the County Management Act, 1940 , to the counties of Longford and Westmeath. Under that subsection, the same person was to be county manager for each of these counties. The effect of this Order is to require each of those counties to have its own individual county manager.
