MAXIMUM PRICES (TURF BRIQUETTES) ORDER, 1976.

The Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 22A and 22C (inserted by the Prices (Amendment) Act, 1965 (No. 23 of 1965)) of the Prices Act, 1958 (No. 4 of 1958), as amended by the Prices (Amendment) Act, 1972 (No. 20 of 1972), and the Prices Stabilisation Order, 1973 ( S.I. No. 96 of 1973 ), hereby orders as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Maximum Prices (Turf Briquettes) Order, 1976.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 6th day of December, 1976.

3. In this Order—

"bale" means a number of turf briquettes bound together by a strap of any description and weighing not less than 11.8 kilogrammes;

"west Cork" means that part of the county of Cork for the time being comprising the county electoral areas of Schull, Skibbereen and Bandon.

4. The maximum price at which turf briquettes may be sold at a place in the State not situated in the county of Kerry, the county of Donegal or west Cork is hereby fixed at 29½p per bale.

5. The maximum price at which turf briquettes may be sold at a place in the State situated in the county of Kerry, the county of Donegal or west Cork is hereby fixed at 30½p per bale.

6. The Maximum Prices (Turf Briquettes) (No. 2) Order, 1975 ( S.I. No. 137 of 1975 ), is hereby revoked

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order fixes the maximum retail prices for turf briquettes as shown in the Order.
