MONEY ORDER AMENDMENT (NO. 21) REGULATIONS, 1975.

I, CONOR CRUISE O'BRIEN, Minister for Posts and Telegraphs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 23 of the Post Office Act, 1908, and section 3 of the Post Office (Amendment) Act, 1969 (No. 18 of 1969), and with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby make the following regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Money Order Amendment (No. 21) Regulations, 1975.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1976.

3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations.

4. Regulation 18 (1) of the Money Order Regulations, 1903 is hereby amended by the substitution of the following tables for Tables A and B (inserted by Regulation 4 of the Money Order Amendment (No. 20) Regulations, 1974 ( S.I. No. 283 of 1974 ) which set out the poundage payable in respect of money orders:

for an amount not exceeding £50.00

30p

for an amount exceeding £50 but not exceeding £100.00

40p

Poundage

In respect of foreign money orders:

for an amount not exceeding £10.00

30p

for an amount exceeding £10.00 but not exceeding £20.00

45p

for an amount exceeding £20.00 but not exceeding £30.00

60p

for an amount exceeding £30.00 but not exceeding £40.00

80p

for an amount exceeding £40.00 but not exceeding £50.00

£1.00"

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Warrant applies to the Money Order service and comes into operation on the 1st January, 1976. It authorises increases in charges on inland and foreign money orders.
