CONTROL OF IMPORTS (QUOTA No. 51) (MISCELLANEOUS TEXTILES) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1975

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by
Section 11
of the
Control of Imports Act, 1934
(No. 12 of 1934), hereby make the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Control of Imports (Quota No. 51) (Miscellaneous Textiles) (Amendment) Order, 1975, and shall come into operation on the first day of January, 1976.
2. The Control of Imports (Quota No. 51) (Miscellaneous Textiles) Order, 1964 (
S.I. No. 297 of 1964
), is hereby amended by the insertion after paragraph 4 of the following paragraph:

"4A. (1) The prohibition on importation effected by paragraph 4 of this Order shall not apply to goods which are specified at a tariff heading number or a tariff code number mentioned in Part I of Table I to this paragraph and are shown to the satisfaction of the Revenue Commissioners to have been manufactured in, or to have originated in, a country specified in Part II of that Table.

(2) The prohibition on importation effected by paragraph 4 of this Order shall not apply to any goods which are specified at a tariff code number or numbers mentioned in column (1) of Part I of Table II to this paragraph and are shown to the satisfaction of the Revenue Commissioners to have been manufactured in, or to have originated in, a country specified in column (2) of that Table opposite the mention in column (1) of the tariff code number or numbers.

(3) The prohibition on importation effected by paragraph 4 of this Order shall not apply to those goods which—
|
| |
( a ) are specified at a tariff code number or numbers mentioned in column (1) of Part II of Table II to this paragraph,
|
| |
( b ) are referred to in column (2) of that Part opposite the mention in column (1), and
|
| |
( c ) are shown to the satisfaction of the Revenue Commissioners to have been manufactured in, or to have originated in, a country specified in column (3) of that Part opposite the mention in column (1).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of the Instrument is to remove from the scope of the Control of Imports (Quota No. 51) (Miscellaneous Textiles) Order, 1964, the following goods:—
|

(1) Those to which the tariff references listed in Pages (3) to (9) inclusive apply and which originate in the countries specified therein or in Page (2).
|
| |
(2) Those specified in Column (2) of Pages (10) to (14) inclusive which originate in the countries listed in Column (3) thereof and to which the tariff references specified in Column (1) apply.
