MAXIMUM PRICES (BUTTER) ORDER, 1974.

I, JUSTIN KEATING, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 22A and 22C (inserted by the Prices (Amendment) Act, 1965 (No. 23 of 1965)) of the Prices Act, 1958 (No. 4 of 1958), as amended by the Prices (Amendment) Act, 1972 (No. 20 of 1972), and the Prices Stabilisation Order, 1973 ( S.I. No. 96 of 1973 ), hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Maximum Prices (Butter) Order, 1974.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 17th day of October, 1974.

3. The maximum prices at which butter ( other than butter in ½lb. foil wrapped packs containing no salt and marked as such by the manufacturer), whether foil or parchment wrapped, may be sold by retail shall be prices calculated at the rate of 37½ p per lb.

4. The Maximum Prices (Household Goods) (No. 5) Order, 1974 ( S.I. No. 274 of 1974 ), is hereby amended by the deletion of the matter in columns (2) and (3) of Part I of the Schedule thereto at reference number 1.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order fixes the maximum retail price which may be charged for butter and amends the Maximum Prices (Household Goods) (No. 5) Order, 1974 by removing butter from the scope of that Order.
