COURTS (SUPPLEMENTAL PROVISIONS) ACT, 1961 (SECTION 46) ORDER, 1974.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 46 of the Courts (Supplemental Provisions) Act, 1961 (No. 39 of 1961), as amended by section 1 of the Courts (Supplemental Provisions) (Amendment) (No. 2) Act, 1968 (No. 21 of 1968), hereby make the following order with respect to which, pursuant to the said section 46 as amended as aforesaid, a draft has been laid before Dáil Éireann and a resolution disapproving of the draft has not been passed by Dáil Éireann within the next subsequent twenty-one days on which it has sat after the draft was laid before it :

1. This Order may be cited as the Courts (Supplemental Provisions) Act, 1961 (Section 46) Order, 1974.

2. Consequent on the implementation of the relevant recommendations of the Review Body on Higher Remuneration in the Public Sector, adjusted in accordance with the terms of the Employer-Labour Conference National Agreement, 1972, and the Employer-Labour Conference National Agreement, 1974, insofar as those terms apply in the period ending on the 28th day of February, 1975, the sums payable by way of remuneration to the several judges of the Supreme Court, the High Court and the Circuit Court and the several justices of the District Court shall—

( a ) with effect from the 1st day of June, 1974, be—

to the Chief Justice

£12,261 a year,

to the President of the High Court

£10,620 a year,

to each ordinary judge of the Supreme Court

£10,346 a year,

to each ordinary judge of the High Court

£8,978 a year,

to the President of the Circuit Court

£8,978 a year,

to each ordinary judge of the Circuit Court

£7,447 a year,

to the President of the District Court

£7,119 a year,

to each other justice of the District Court

£5,806 a year,

and

( b ) with effect from the 1st day of December, 1974, be—

to the Chief Justice

£12,918 a year,

to the President of the High Court

£11,195 a year,

to each ordinary judge of the Supreme Court

£10,908 a year,

to each ordinary judge of the High Court

£9,472 a year,

to the President of the Circuit Court

£9,472 a year,

to each ordinary judge of the Circuit Court

£7,865 a year,

to the President of the District Court

£7,521 a year,

to each other justice of the District Court

£6,143 a year,
