KERRY COUNTY COUNCIL (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1974.

The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers vested in him by section 33 (7) of the Local Government Act, 1941 , (No. 23 of 1941), hereby orders as follows:—

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Kerry County Council (Amendment) Order, 1974.

(2) This Order and the Kerry County Council Order, 1942 may be cited collectively as the Kerry County Council Orders, 1942 and 1974.

2. Article 3 of and the Schedule to the Kerry County Council Order, 1942 are hereby revoked.

3. (1) The County of Kerry shall be divided into the county electoral areas named in the first column of the Schedule to this Order.

(2) Every such county electoral area shall consist of the places set forth in the second column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of such county electoral area.

(3) The number of members of the Council of the County of Kerry to be elected for each such county electoral area shall be the number set forth in the third column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of such county electoral area.

4. Every reference in the Schedule to this Order to a district electoral division or urban district shall be construed as referring to such district electoral division or urban district as existing at the date of this Order and every reference to a former rural district shall be construed as a reference to that district as constituted immediately before the 1st day of October, 1925.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to divide Kerry County into four county electoral areas for the purpose of the election of members of Kerry County Council and to fix the number of members to be elected for each county electoral area.
