LEITRIM COUNTY COUNCIL (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1974.

The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers vested in him by section 33 (7) of the Local Government Act, 1941 , (No. 23 of 1941) hereby orders as follows:—

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Leitrim County Council (Amendment) Order, 1974.

(2) This Order and the Leitrim County Council Order, 1942 may be cited collectively as the Leitrim County Council Orders, 1942 and 1974.

2. Article 3 of and the Schedule to the Leitrim County Council Order, 1942 are hereby revoked.

3. (1) The County of Leitrim shall be divided into the county electoral areas named in the first column of the Schedule to this Order.

(2) Every such county electoral area shall consist of the places set forth in the second column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of such county electoral area.

(3) The number of members of the Council of the County of Leitrim to be elected for each such county electoral area shall be the number set forth in the third column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of such county electoral area.

4. Every reference in the Schedule to this Order to a district electoral division shall be construed as referring to such district electoral division as existing at the date of this Order.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to divide Leitrim County into four county electoral areas for the purpose of the election of members of Leitrim County Council and to fix the number of members to be elected for each county electoral area.
