SOCIAL WELFARE (PAY-RELATED BENEFIT) ACT, 1973 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1973.

The Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 18 of the Social Welfare (Pay-Related Benefit) Act, 1973 (No. 2 of 1973) hereby orders as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Social Welfare (Pay-Related Benefit) Act, 1973 (Commencement) Order, 1973.

2. In this Order "the Act" means the Social Welfare (Pay-Related Benefit) Act, 1973.

3. (1) Section 3 of the Act shall come into operation on the 8th day of April, 1974.

(2) Section 5 of the Act shall come into operation on the 6th day of April, 1974.

(3) The remaining sections of the Act shall come into operation on the date of this Order.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order brings the provisions of the Social Welfare (Pay-Related Benefit) Act, 1973 into operation, the provision for liability for payment of pay-related contributions commencing on 6 April, 1974, the provision for payment of pay-related benefit commencing on 8 April, 1974 and the remaining provisions of the Act coming into effect immediately.
