REDUNDANCY PAYMENTS (GALWAY PORT DOCKERS) REGULATIONS, 1973.

I, MICHAEL O'LEARY, Minister for Labour, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 35 of the Redundancy Payments Act, 1967 (No. 21 of 1967), hereby make the following regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Redundancy Payments (Galway Port Dockers) Regulations, 1973.

2. For the purposes of the Redundancy Payments Acts, 1967 to 1973, the Galway City Timber Importers' Association shall be treated as the employer of all dockers in Galway port who, while so working, are employed by an employer who is a member of that Association.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The purpose of these regulations is to provide that for the purpose of calculating redundancy payments entitlements of workers disemployed under a scheme of rationalisation of dockers employed in Galway port, their periods of service with member firms of the Galway City Timber Importer's Association can be aggregated.
