AMALGAMATION OF REGISTRARS' DISTRICTS ORDER, 1973.

I, PÁDRAIGH Ó MUIREADHAIGH, An tArd-Chláraitheoir, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 18 of the Registration of Births and Deaths (Ireland) Act, 1863 and Section 8 of the Registration of Marriages (Ireland) Act, 1863, hereby order as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Amalgamation of Registrars' Districts Order, 1973.

2. The division of County Leitrim into Registrars' Districts shall be varied by the abolition of the Registrars' Districts of Carrigallen, Rinn and Rowan and the addition of the area heretofore comprising the said Registrars' Districts to the Mohill Registrar's District.

3. The division of County Limerick into Registrars' Districts shall be varied by the abolition of the Registrars' Districts of Abbeyfeale, Ardagh, Broadford and Feenagh and the addition of the area heretofore comprising the said Registrars' Districts to the Newcastle Registrar's District.

4. The division of County Cork into Registrars' Districts shall be varied by the abolition of the Registrar's District of Cobh No. 2 and the addition of the area heretofore comprising the said Registrar's District to Cobh No. 1 Registrar's District and the amalgamated district shall thenceforth be known as Cobh Registrar's District.

5. The division of County Galway into Registrars' Districts shall be varied by the abolition of the Registrars' Districts of Dunmore, Headford and Tuam No. 2 and the addition of the area heretofore comprising the said Registrars' Districts to Tuam No. 1 Registrar's District and the amalgamated district shall thenceforth be known as Tuam Registrar's District.

6. This Order shall come into operation on the first day of October, nineteen hundred and seventy-three.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this order is to amalgamate certain Registrars' Districts in each of the Counties of Leitrim, Limerick, Cork and Galway so as to reduce the number of such districts in each of those counties.
