PRICES AND CHARGES (NOTIFICATION OF INCREASES) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1973.

I, JUSTIN KEATING, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 22C (inserted by the Prices (Amendment) Act, 1965 (No. 23 of 1965) of the Prices Act, 1958 (No. 4 of 1958), hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Prices and Charges (Notification of Increases) (Amendment) Order, 1973.

2. The Prices and Charges (Notification of Increases) Order, 1973 ( S.I. No. 98 of 1973 ), is hereby amended—

(a) by the deletion of subparagraph (a) of paragraph 2, and

(b) by the substitution of "two months" for "one month" in paragraph 3 (a).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order amends the Prices and Charges (Notification of Increases) Order, 1973 to provide (a) that a manufacturer may not increase the price of a commodity manufactured by him, and that a person rendering a service or carrying out (other than under a contract of service) work or a process may not increase his charge without giving two months notice in advance to the Minister for Industry and Commerce and (b) that the Order no longer applies to importers or wholesalers.
