SOCIAL WELFARE (UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFIT) (CONTRIBUTIONS AND ADDITIONAL CONDITION) (REVOCATION) REGULATIONS, 1973.

The Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3 of the Social Welfare Act, 1952 (No. 11 of 1952), hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Unemployment Benefit) (Contributions and Additional Condition) (Revocation) Regulations, 1973.

2. The Social Welfare (Unemployment Benefit) (Contributions and Additional Condition) Regulations, 1966 ( S.I. No. 241 of 1966 ), shall be revoked as from 2nd July, 1973.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The 1966 Regulations being revoked by these Regulations apply an additional contribution condition to certain female employed contributors whose employment is mainly in agriculture or in private domestic service before they can receive unemployment benefit. The revocation will enable such contributors to obtain unemployment benefit as from 2 July, 1973, on the same terms as female employed contributors generally.
