FISHERY PRODUCTS (REGULATION OF EXPORT) ORDER, 1973

I, JOHN FAHEY, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 of the Agricultural and Fishery Products (Regulation of Export) Act, 1947 (No. 18 of 1947), and the Fisheries (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1965 ( S.I. No. 83 of 1965 ) (as adapted by the Agriculture (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1965 ( S.I. No. 146 of 1965 )), and the Fisheries (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order, 1970 ( S.I. No. 123 of 1970 ), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Fishery Products (Regulation of Export) Order, 1973.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1973.

3. In this Order "frozen smoked demersal fish fillets" means frozen smoked fillets of any sea fish other than herring or mackerel.

4. The export of—

( a ) frozen pre-cooked crumbed fish fingers and fish portions,

( b ) frozen cooked crab meat, and

( c ) frozen smoked demersal fish fillets,

save under and in accordance with a licence in that behalf issued under the Agricultural and Fishery Products (Regulation of Export) Act, 1947 (No. 18 of 1947), is hereby prohibited.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order prohibits, except under licence, the export of certain frozen fishery products.
