ROTUNDA HOSPITAL (AMENDMENT OF CHARTER) ORDER, 1972.

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 76 of the Health Act, 1970 (No. 1 of 1970), on the application of the Governors and Guardians of the Hospital for the Relief of Poor Lying-in Women in Dublin, commonly called the Rotunda Hospital, and after consultation with the Commissioners for Charitable Donations and Bequests for Ireland hereby makes the following Order, a draft of which has been approved by a resolution passed by each House of the Oireachtas:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Rotunda Hospital (Amendment of Charter) Order, 1972.

2. Such part of the Charter for Incorporating the Governors and Guardians of the Hospital for the Relief of Poor Lying-in Women in Dublin dated the 2nd day of December, 1756, as empowers the Governors and Guardians of the said Hospital to purchase and take, hold, receive and enjoy lands shall be amended by the deletion therefrom of the limitation that the yearly value of such lands shall not exceed One Thousand Pounds.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order amends the Charter of the Rotunda Hospital, Dublin, so as to remove the limitation of £1,000 on the yearly value of lands which may be held by the authorities of that hospital. This limit was fixed in 1756.
